The GO Society Board founded a journal, Organization Design, in November 2007.

We editors began our job by using a survey to consult our affiliate requisite organization practitioners and 400 of you sent us your advice.

We used this advice in selecting the journal name, its policies and special issue topics for our first issues.

The first special issue will focus on how requisite organization concepts can be used to design and manage small and medium size organizations.  It will be released in English and Spanish in both hard copy and as an e-journal at our next world conference now scheduled for Buenos Aires, October 26-29, 2009.

We next used a second survey to ask our practitioners about their experience in using requisite organization in small and medium size organizations and their interest in contributing to this first special issue. We are now reviewing your responses and will get back to you soon.

Also this summer, we explored e-journal software and decided to use an open access (free) software called Open Journal Systems.  It's now used by over 1500 journals around the world. Ken Shepard attended a world conference on OJS that was held this summer in at the University of Toronto.  We made contacts with collaborative experts from all over the world working to improve the software and have plenty of free local support from staff at the U. of Toronto.

We will have the software set up soon and there will be links in this window for how to:

  • read the journal policies and guidelines and
  • how to upload article submissions.

Expect another report on our progress in December.
