How to contribute to GO Design Society

The steady growth and success of the society has depended on the generous contribution of its affiliates.

Some say that the GO Society was made possible by Ken Craddock's years of volunteer work on the Requisite Organization Bibliography that built awareness of the history, depth and breath of requisite organization work around the world.

In the early days it was the Toronto Group's investment of time and money that made the first conference and book successful.

  • Toronto consulting firms donated their offices for many meetings
  • Twenty-five Toronto practitioners provided the $50,000 seed money for the 2005 conference by registering and showing their confidence more than a year in advance.
  • They also volunteered to do special projects in support of the conference, deliver pre-conference workshops and to make presentations at the conference itself.
  • Consultants provided additional seed money and supported web site development by purchasing sponsorships - including use of their logos on the web and at the conference
  • Paul McDowell provided his substantial video production and post production talent and professional equipment to making early promotional videos and beginning work on a documentary of the evolution of RO practice interviewing CEOs and senior consultants here, in the UK, and in the US.
  • Don and Bonnie Fowke invested their own money to develop the GO Society's logo and branding later transferring it to the Society.
  • About 25 authors paid in advance a total of about $40,000 to finance the Society's first book.
  • Herb Koplowitz, Brian Beiles, Charlotte Bygrave and Mike Brush volunteered to design and deliver several two-day public professional development workshops in RO to build awareness and preparedness for the conference.
  • Gerry Kraines, Nancy Lee and Michael Raynor donated copies of their books free to all conference participants.

How to become a sponsor

The society is seeking:

  • Organizations that have used requisite organization concepts and are willing to make a financial contribution to the society and to allow their logo to be used on the society's web site and at its events.
  • Consulting firms that will become GO Society Citizens -- a form of sponsorship -- that involves a financial contribution over three years, regular attendance at world conferences, willingness to present at the conferences, contribute to the journal, and..
  • Five universities on different continents who are willing to pledge three-year financial contributions in support of the new GO journa, Organization Design

The society needs affiliated practitioners who will

  • regularly attend conferences
  • present and serve on panels at these conferences to share their practice and insights
  • contribute to the journal
